At least if they didn’t turn out right, I wouldn’t feel too guilty about tossing them in the trash, as suppose to if they were high grade meats like steak or a roast. They came out perfect. Lightly crisp on the outside and flaky on the inside. Next I raised the bar, with some chicken breast. It, too, came out yummy and perfectly done. After a few days I decided to finally try some thin strips of steak. I was absolutely blown away by the results. A grill couldn’t have yielded more perfectly tender and juicy pieces of meat. I was officially in love with my new microwave.

Auto Roast, Auto Deforst, Bake Setting And More

Once my infatuation with the grill feature subsided, I decided to explore other functions like the Auto Roast, Auto Defrost, cook and bake settings. They all worked great and heated up food evenly and thoroughly. So far the Sharp R-820JS has proven itself on many levels with sufficiency, speed and reliability. It had all the familiarities of my old unit, with button like the minute plus and popcorn, with so many more advanced features.

Even though this microwave cost more than other brands and models, it’s totally worth every penny. I paid around $300 for it, but not a bad investment for something I use on a daily basis. I’ve had this microwave now for about 8 months, and it’s still working as powerfully as the first day I got it. I try to diversify the many functions by using each of them at least once during the week. I think it helps keep the microwave performing consistently since one feature isn’t overused while others are dormant. That may just be my own quirks, but so far so good. Today I will review WMH3205XVS. I manage a soup kitchen downtown and unfortunately the combination microwave oven that was in use blew out. But it was only a matter of time for the little old guy. Now we’re able to prepare and heat up the food faster than before. It also heats through evenly, with no cold spots. The microwave is very powerful. I think it would be a sufficient microwave for commercial use as well, since our soup kitchen has the high demand of a commercial establishment. Reliable and powerful appliances are a must. It’s a wonder that we lasted as long as we did with our old model. I’m hoping this one will double in longevity, if not more.

Another great feature of WMH3205XVS microwave would be the 6th sense sensor cooking. Not having to think about the weight and quantity of the item, as well as how long to cook it really saves time. All you have to do is put whatever you want cooked or heated into the microwave and push a button. The microwave itself will calculate the mass, weight and length of time needed for the food to cook through. I’ve personally tried this feature many times, and each time I’m surprised of the outcome. The food is perfectly done. It’s like having an extra cook in the kitchen.

The Hidden Vent – A Nice Bonus

This Whirlpool microwave’s hidden vent is also a nice bonus that we use on a daily basis. It helps to minimize smoke and smells that occur when food is cooking. The only thing about it is that it can get a little loud, but that’s no problem in our kitchen since everyone else can be just as loud. So we can easily drown out the buzzing of the fan. I’m not so sure in a regular kitchen though.

Aside from the exhaust fan, you have the AccuSimmer cycle which is ideal for sauces, staged cooking, steam cooking, autocook, defrost, and the soften and melt cycle. It’s truly a versatile piece of equipment and would make a great addition to any busy kitchen.

First off, I wanted to test out the concerns many people had about the convection not being strong enough or lacking the appropriate wattage. I put in a whole rotisserie chicken that was refrigerated overnight. Many people would complain of uneven heating for bigger items, so my chicken made for a perfect assessment. Just after 1 ½ minutes, I took the chicken out and it was sizzling, evenly heated throughout and not to mention, delicious. That’s not bad timing for a 2 pound chilled bird. But I guess some can argue the efficiency of the heating is due to the brand newness of the unit. But after 6 months, it’s still the same. In goes a cold chicken, and after 1 ½ minutes, out comes a hot bird. So as far as power goes, Sharp R-930AW is great.

Other features of Sharp R-930AW that I really enjoyed with this microwave would be things like the smart and easy sensor settings. This basically heats up any food at any amount at just the right time. You no longer have to guess the weight of the food or put items back in the microwave to reheat it. The Sharp R-930AW will be able to assess the food, the weight and the time it takes to heat it up. Now that’s what I call a smart appliance. My children use this setting all the time. This cuts down on burnt tongues and food splatters that usually occur when they overheat food.

There are so many great features; I don’t even know where to begin. Let’s start with the one touch sensor; one turn of the knob and you can automatically adjust power level and cooking time. It has up to 10 different power levels which help you save on energy; you don’t have to use the same amount of energy for foods that require less energy to heat.

Something That Has To Be Mentioned: The Inverter Turbo Defrost

The Inverter Turbo Defrost comes in very handy for those times I will actually attempt to cook a meal. It defrosts your meats without cooking it through. With my parent’s microwave, you always end up with a half cooked, half raw piece of meat when using the defrost button. Not with the Prestige, it comes out perfectly defrosted every single time. In addition, in also features a more/less button, keep warm mode, delay start and timer, quick minute, stop and start buttons.
Lastly, I usually don’t’ use the popcorn button in many microwaves because they can somewhat be inaccurate; sometimes burning your popcorn or not cooking as much of the kernels as possible. The first time I tried the popcorn button on the Prestige I kept the popcorn in there throughout the whole duration of the cooking time. When it was finished, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the popcorn didn’t burn. Also when I poured the popcorn into the bowl, there were minimal kernels left. Now I don’t have to babysit popcorn in the microwave whenever I want popcorn with my movies. I definitely scored with the Panasonic Prestige.
