Panasonic Prestige NN-SD688S Review
Panasonic Prestige NN-SD688S, 1.2-Cubic Foot 1300 Watt Sensor Microwave Oven, Stainless Steel Review
Here comes my Panasonic Prestige NN-SD688S Review
– I finally moved out of my parent’s house and into my own apartment and one of the many items that I needed was a really good a convection microwave. I’m not much of a cook, but I’m an expert in heating up food. I wanted a microwave that not only had many usable functions but also looked good. My mother offered her older, plastic model but I kindly declined. I was looking for sophistication in form and function and I found it with the Panasonic Prestige.
This brand of Panasonic comes in so many models and I chose the NN-SD688S one because it was the smallest and the cheapest of all the models. It’s just me and I live in a studio apartment with limited counter space. So I didn’t want to get something so big that would take up the whole kitchen.
The Design Of Panasonic Prestige NN-SD688S
The NN-SD688S model is a little more than one foot in width and less than two feet in length. It comes in an attractive stainless steel design with a half mirror door. It displays large digital numbers and instructions in its display screen. The buttons and the one touch sensor are the perfect size and add to the simplicity of the design.
Other Great Features
There are so many great features; I don’t even know where to begin. Let’s start with the one touch sensor; one turn of the knob and you can automatically adjust power level and cooking time. It heats food thoroughly and evenly. The programming of the microwave comes in many languages and is quite simple to set up, regardless of how sophisticated the appliance may look. It has up to 10 different power levels which help you save on energy; you don’t have to use the same amount of energy for foods that require less energy to heat.
Something That Has To Be Mentioned: The Inverter Turbo Defrost
The Inverter Turbo Defrost comes in very handy for those times I will actually attempt to cook a meal. It defrosts your meats without cooking it through. With my parent’s microwave, you always end up with a half cooked, half raw piece of meat when using the defrost button. Not with the Prestige, it comes out perfectly defrosted every single time. In addition, in also features a more/less button, keep warm mode, delay start and timer, quick minute, stop and start buttons.
Lastly, I usually don’t’ use the popcorn button in many microwaves because they can somewhat be inaccurate; sometimes burning your popcorn or not cooking as much of the kernels as possible. The first time I tried the popcorn button on the Prestige I kept the popcorn in there throughout the whole duration of the cooking time. When it was finished, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the popcorn didn’t burn. Also when I poured the popcorn into the bowl, there were minimal kernels left. Now I don’t have to babysit popcorn in the microwave whenever I want popcorn with my movies. I definitely scored with the Panasonic Prestige.
