Panasonic Prestige NN-SD797S, 1.6cuft 1250 Watt Sensor Microwave Oven, Stainless Steel- Review

Panasonic Prestige NN-SD797S ReviewI’ve been bugging my husband about upgrading our hundred year old microwave for some time now. Ours is so old, it only features two buttons; a turn knob for the time and an open-door button. I think it may have been one of the first models ever made. It was handed down to us by my aunt when we first got married. Anyways, we’re long overdue for a new one. He finally budged and we bought the Panasonic Prestige NN-SD797S. It’s the best thing since sliced bread and here are the many reasons why:

Why Panasonic Prestige NN-SD797S Is Great

Panasonic Prestige NN-SD797S•    We bought the family size one which can fit small casserole dishes. It comes in a nice shiny stainless steel and goes with the more modern décor of our kitchen. I absolutely love the new sleek design of our microwave. The microwave has a half mirror door and fingerprint resistant surface. Our last microwave literally looked like a crime scene with all the fingerprints and smudges that was on there. I’m no longer embarrassed to have people over. Sad but true, my old microwave actually limited my social life. It still displays minimalism with its buttons and has the familiar turn knob feature that was on our old microwave, except this one is far more attractive looking and can be set to either time or weight.

•    Panasonic Prestige NN-SD797S has so many neat features and customizations. Its other functions include an easy programming pop-out dial and a push-button panel, Inverter Turbo Defrost for thorough defrosting, five multi-stage cooking options, 10 power levels, a more/less control, a timer, keep-warm button, Quick Minute, delay start and a frequently used popcorn button. We watch a lot of movies here.

•    Despite of its intimidating size, it’s actually quite an energy efficient piece of appliance. Instead of constant heating, the microwave delivers pulses of very low microwave power for even cooking. It can also help with overcooking and accidentally burning food. I’ve done this a lot, especially with bread. Biscotti anyone?

•    It may look like a complicated piece of equipment what with all the sophisticated features, but it’s actually quite easy to program and use. It displays a menu action screen and also step by step cooking instructions with certain foods. It’s also a multilingual microwave and can display instructions in English, Spanish or French. Talk about sophistication.

•    Lastly, you may expect to pay an arm and a leg for an appliance like this. But it was actually really affordable and not much more than other simpler plastic models. We ordered ours from Amazon for less than $200. It arrived speedily within the next two days. I was so excited when it arrived I literally broke out in tears. OK not really, but it was a great day.

Panasonic Prestige NN-SD797S Review Conclusion

dinaNow with this wonderful addition to our kitchen, we can heat up our food efficiently and in style. The Panasonic Prestige microwave is a great product and gives you so much value for your money. It’s beautiful, practical and over delivers in performance. There’s not one bad thing I can say about it. Highly recommended.
